Nourish the Temple
YOUR BODY WAS DESIGNED TO COMMUNICATE
Our bodies are extraordinary!
Every day, without conscious thought, the heart beats, the lungs breathe, cells repair, blood circulates, and countless systems work together to keep us alive. The body is always communicating through our energy, digestion, sleep, pain, inflammation, mood, and mental clarity.
These experiences aren't always something to silence or push through. They can also be information—signals inviting us to pay attention. One of the greatest lessons of my own healing journey was learning to stop asking only, “How do I make this symptom go away?” and begin asking, “What is my body trying to tell me?”
That question changed the way I looked at food, health, healing, and eventually my entire life. For me, nourishing the temple isn't about achieving a perfect diet. It's about learning to listen to the body we've been given—and becoming conscious of what we're asking it to carry.
Then Everything Changed
In 2010, I discovered Live Right 4 Your Type by Dr. Peter D'Adamo. At the time, I wasn't looking for a spiritual awakening. I was simply trying to feel better.
As I changed what I was eating, my health changed dramatically.
- •My breathing improved.
- •My inflammation decreased.
- •My energy returned.
Then I began noticing changes beyond the physical.
- •My mind became clearer.
- •My intuition grew stronger.
- •My heart opened.
- •My spiritual awakening followed.
Our Divine Design
One of the greatest lessons that experience taught me was simple: Every body is different.
Blood type became one doorway for me into exploring our biological differences and questioning the idea that there could ever be one perfect way of eating for everyone. I don't believe one book, diet, or system has all the answers. I believe our bodies are worth getting to know.
Instead of simply asking whether something is considered “healthy,” I began asking a different question: How does this actually make my body feel? That shift taught me to pay attention—to my energy, digestion, sleep, inflammation, mood, mental clarity, and the way I felt after eating.
The goal wasn't perfection. It was awareness.
Food From the Earth
Over time, my relationship with food became simpler. I found myself moving closer to foods that came from the Earth and farther away from foods that had been heavily altered from their original form.
- •Fresh vegetables.
- •Fruit.
- •Seeds.
- •Herbs.
- •Clean water.
- •Healthy fats.
- •Foods that still resemble Creation.
There is something beautifully simple about returning to the basics. Nature already provides an extraordinary variety of foods capable of nourishing the human body.
Perhaps we don't need to make nourishment quite so complicated. Sometimes the first step is simply returning to what has been here all along.
Healing Happens in Layers
Food matters deeply to me, and food is only one part of the picture.
- •Sleep matters.
- •Movement matters.
- •Breath matters.
- •Thoughts matter.
- •Stress matters.
- •Energy matters.
- •Relationships matter.
- •Gratitude matters.
We often separate these things into categories, yet the body doesn't experience life in separate compartments. What we eat can affect how we feel. How we sleep can affect how we think. Stress can affect the body. Our environment and relationships can affect our sense of well-being. Healing isn't one thing. It is learning to recognize how deeply connected everything can be.
Food Is Sacred
Long before grocery stores, packaged foods, and eating on the run, human beings depended directly upon the Earth for nourishment.
- •The Earth feeds us.
- •The Sun feeds the Earth.
- •Water gives life.
- •Everything works together.
Food connects us to an entire living system. Perhaps that is why gratitude belongs at the table—not because we're supposed to say the right words before eating, but because when we recognize everything required for food to reach our plate, gratitude becomes a natural response.
"I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it."
Genesis 1:29
A seed contains the potential for life. Given soil, water, light, and time, something extraordinary can emerge.
Life nourishes life.
NOURISH YOUR TEMPLE
You don't have to eat exactly the way I eat or follow the path I followed. This is an invitation to become curious about your own body. Listen. Notice. Learn. Pay attention to what leaves you feeling nourished and what doesn't—and become conscious of what you're consuming physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically.
YOUR BODY HAS BEEN SPEAKING ALL ALONG
