OUR MINDS ARE LIKE AN OCEAN
When we’re awake our awareness is mostly at the surface following the waves, where the Ocean is interacting with the Wind and the Moon.
Meditation helps bring our Awareness Deeper, where the water is more still and quiet!
Meditation is Paying Attention to something in order to alter our state of being, our state of consciousness.
SukhiDevi
Mediation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance. Meditation can also be used to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming! “Mayo Clinic.org”
BENEFITS OF MEDITATION
· Gaining a New Perspective on a Stressful Situation
· Builds Skills to Manage Stress
· Reduces Negative Emotions
· Increases Imagination and Creativity
· Increases Patience and Tolerance
· Expanded Experience of Healing Emotions such as Love, Compassion. Joy and Gratitude
As soon as you realize your mind slipped away from Paying Attention, gently bring it back! Even if it keeps wandering, it’s okay, keep bringing your awareness back.
Be persistent and patient; you are training your ego. Show it that you mean business and eventually your mind will listen to you and your thoughts will subside.
Don’t judge yourself; rather, congratulate yourself each time you bring your mind back!
If you feel anxious relax it! Your emotions are like a muscle- observe the anxiety, tense it, then relax it. And bring the mind back.
Thank you SukhiDevi,
I am grateful for you!

You can even turn off your cell phone – this is not necessary.

Once you get the hang of it disconnecting from all electronics is beneficial!
