OUR MINDS ARE LIKE AN OCEAN
When we’re awake our awareness is mostly at the surface following the waves, where the Ocean is interacting with the Wind and the Moon.
Meditation helps bring our Awareness Deeper, where the water is more still and quiet!
Meditation is Paying Attention to something in order to alter our state of being, our state of consciousness.

BENEFITS OF MEDITATION
When you notice your mind has drifted from paying attention, gently guide it back. Even if it keeps wandering, that's okay—just keep returning your focus.
Be both persistent and patient; you’re training your ego. Show it you're serious, and with time, your mind will start to follow your lead and the chatter will quiet down.
Avoid self-judgment; instead, celebrate each moment you successfully refocus!
If you feel anxious, relax into it. Think of your emotions like a muscle—observe the anxiety, tense it, then release it. And gently bring your mind back.
Simply Observing your Thoughts as they pass through your Mind
Repeating a Word, Phrase or Sound, most common being “OM”
From Counting Beads or Breaths to staring at a Candle or Moon Gazing
Used in nearly all Religions and Spiritual Traditions
Yoga, Tai Chi, Gardening or Walking
Listening to instructions from a guide, YouTube is a great place to search for guided meditations
Paying attention only to your breath
Repeating a Meaningful Word or Phrase!

Give yourself permission to disconnect for a few minutes,
An hour, a day, or even 10 days!
Take a Big Cleansing Breath

Focus to relax each part of your body – moving from the crown of your head to your feet
Sometimes it’s nice to find a guided meditation online!
Once you get used to it, unplugging from all electronics is highly beneficial!
